The Sumter County Parks and Recreation Department's youth sports programs are designed for the citizens of Sumter County, Georgia. To be eligible for participation at the advertised rates and have all of the privileges of eligibility for post season play, a participant MUST reside in Sumter County, Georgia. If a participant does NOT reside in Sumter County, Georgia, they MUST pay equal to double the amount of the registration fee. For programs that are affiliated with the Georgia Recreation and Park Association, to be eligible for post season play, a participant must either reside or attend school full time in Sumter County, Georgia. The Sumter Area Little League is operated during the Spring Baseball Season. This league is a part of Little League Baseball, Inc. and our area includes all of Sumter, Schley, Terrell, Webster and Macon Counties. To be eligible for post season play in Little League, a participant must reside in one of the above mentioned counties. All participants must register and sign a waiver form. The registration fee must be paid at the time of registration. All equipment, from a previous activity, must be returned before participation in another activity is allowed. In youth football and basketball, a player whose name appears on the roster or in an official scorebook of a scholastic level team is ineligible for GRPA post season play. Anyone wishing to register after the registration deadline will be placed onto a waiting list and taken in the order of the waiting list on an as needed basis. Participants may NOT request to be placed onto specific teams or with specific coaches in leagues that require a draft. There are no special considerations given for carpool reasons, neighborhoods, cousins, etc. |
